For the first time, the Card Tricks Chapter will be offering a special category for kids to enter their quilts! Kids 17 years old and younger are welcome to enter the quilts they made in the Youth Category. These quilts are for display only and will not be judged. All quilts entered into this category will receive a participation ribbon just for entering!
If kids want to have their quilts judged, they need to enter the quilt into the appropriate adult category.
It is so important that we teach quilting to the next generation: otherwise, the art of quilting may die out! Fortunately, there are many young people who want to learn about quilting, and many programs to help them learn! The Card Tricks Chapter works closely with the Arizona Quilters Guild Next Gen program to sponsor classes and opportunities for kids to learn to quilt. In June, for example, the Chapter will hold two separate four-day-long Kids' Quilt Camps at Northland Pioneer College in Snowflake. At the end of each week, the kids will have a small quilt top ready for quilting, and hopefully ready to be entered into the show!
Our quilt show is an open show- you do not need to be a member of the Card Tricks Chapter to enter your quilt! Download the entry form and instructions to enter your quilts!
